The Desire Suite was written over quarantine when Sappho & Damon were both isolated and separated from their partners. Working remotely at first, and then in the same social bubble, they wrote a collection of minimal but emotionally tender deep house tracks- that are fun and moody at the same time. This contemplative album reflects the desire and longing through that physical separation; but most of all celebrates queer love.
"All I Want Is You" takes it's inspiration from the daytime Sunday tea dances common to the queer community. In the Pacific Northwest, as the rain stops in late spring the warm weather electrifies the city bringing everyone outside celebrating the return of the sun. This track captures the energy of that party- where we meet in our community spaces, twirl and celebrate. It's a flirty moment, to be sure.
Natasha Kmeto created a remix for the release which put her personal flavor on the track- utilizing her signature production and vocal sampling. Invoking the cold nights spent clubbing warehouses in the PNW, the swirling and icy club beat sets the tone for the track while the vocal samples fade in and out, posing the track's only lyrics as a question. Are you all I really want? As the track progresses, the bouncing bass line and repeated vocals serve as an answer to that question- that although the night might be chilly, the desire remains in the heat and passion of the dance floor.
"Higher Love" is the first single from Sappho & Damon Boucher's forthcoming LP, "The Desire Suite". The deep and minimal techno track is driven with a bubbling bass line, invoking the feeling of a dark and hazy club scene full of lust. Vocals and synthesizer punch through to juxtapose it with a light airy feeling, balancing the track's emotional core.
Along with the single, comes a warped techno driven remix from Portland producer and DJ, Perfect Health. PH is the founder of Mental Health Club, an annual multimedia event series and co-founder of the club night ZERO, with Seattle-based producer Gag Reflex. PH has been producing music since 2010, focusing on Techno, Trance and Club. PH's DJ sets often blend genres without restriction to appeal to a wider demographic. Recently, their work has been featured on New World Dysorder, /Crude/ and MANIC!.

Included in the compilation is Sappho and Damon Boucher's lo-fi house track, 'I Want You.'
